As a student,
I’m sure some of you prefer studying in a conducive and quiet place away from home.
What counts most are conducive, quiet places to study with power points and where to find 24 hours study places.
These places include Our Tampines Hub, Khoo Teck Puat hospital, The A11ey and certain Starbucks Coffee outlets. In summary, the best places to study in Singapore are:
- Starbucks Coffee
- Public Libraries
- School Campuses
- Changi Airport
- Fast Food Restaurants
- Community Centres
- Hipster Cafes
- Productive Paya Lebar Quarters
- Tampines Hub
1. Starbucks Coffee
Probably counts as among the top 10 places to study in Singapore.
The fragrant aroma of coffee, comfortable seats and the ability to drink a cup of rich, creamy and sweet Frappuccino.
Whether studying at Starbucks is effective or not depends on individual. (see tips memory-improving tips here)
But interestingly, some students reveal that the studying part is used to justify buying a Starbucks drink.
But:
Respect Starbucks studying policy and studying hours.
Here’s a response left previously by the company towards an incident where a girl was asked not to study in the premises:
“We’ve also noticed the reactions within this post and also through previous feedback about table turn in Starbucks. We encourage all patrons to share the space so that everyone can enjoy their visit. Finally, we would like to ask for your consideration to share your thoughts and comments with respect and refrain from offensive personal attacks on [the girl] or any other member of our community. Thank you.”
Anyway, here are some beautiful and quietest Starbucks, most opening 24hours:

2. Public Libraries
Want to know where you can study for free in Singapore?
Then you should check out the next favourite study corner on our list.
Libraries these days are getting Instagram-worthy
Home interior designers used to get their inspirations from chic cafes β I can foresee more to model their houses after
… libraries!
Based on public feedbacks, the newer libraries have now added more seats and power points for studying. Checked.
Next on the students’ wish-list β libraries that never sleep.
But at least they are free.
Some libraries have CafΓ© Galilee outlets so that you can get your caffeine boost.
CafΓ© Galilee Outlets:
Woodlands Regional Library
Jurong Regional Library
Ang Mo Kio Public Library
Bishan Public Library
Marine Parade Public Library
Queenstown Public Library
Did you notice?
All the CafΓ© Galilee outlets are located in libraries.
For those who often study in libraries, thinking of where to study when the library is closed in a major headache to them.
The library @ Esplanade is one of the quietest libraries in Singapore as it is seldom visited by people on the weekdays.
Library @ Orchard is easily accessible, near Somerset MRT station and is one of the newest libraries in Singapore, although recently edged out by Tampines Regional Library.

Need I mention more? Most fast food outlets do not offer power points, but this Burger King branch at Tampines North CC does provide. However, would advise students to avoid studying there if there are other options. 24 hours: Depends on location Iβm quite surprised the community centres are not as popular as I would expect them to be, since they are located within the neighbourhood. Let me share with you this a little-known secret- Most community centres study room have free Wifi and AMPLE of power points. For Sengkang CC, free flow of food and beverages are offered to students as well! However, the officers will require you to register your NRIC with them (a simple procedure) before you can be granted access. Five other community centres that were brought were Bradell Height Community Center, Punggol Community Center, Seragoon Community Centre, Bishan Community Centre and Elias Community Centre (thanks to a blog reader). They offers studying cubicles, are open 24 hours but no drinking and eating are allowed in the rooms. Here is the full list of opening hours and contact numbers. Thanks for the interesting tips for places to study. Do add one more; Elias Mall /CC. 2 study rooms, open 24 hrs during exam periods. Else til 9pm. Free coffee outside study room. Power supply, aircon, quiet room. No wifi though.
Hey, thanks for the article. I would like to add another place in Bugis (blue line exit) at DUO.
There are few cafes such as Joe & Dough and A Poke Theory. Both are pretty quite at the moment, offers wi-fi (no need to log in again like at Starbuck) and some power sockets.
Thank you Kevin! I will update in the next article.
hihi, libraries only limits you to 2 hours per visit. But regional ones like the one at Bugis is 3 hours. Hope this helps!
Thanks Amy, very useful indeed!
can see Productive PLQ also. Got day pass and hourly pass to book before going down.
Thanks Ray! Productive PLQ will certainly be helpful for students during COVID-19.
