What is Arduino

Arduino
Arduino is an open-source electronics platform linking software inputs and hardware applications.

By using an Arduino board, you are able to get inputs, such as a sensor light, pushing a button, retrieving a Instagram text and convert it into an output.

This output could be to activate a motor, lighting up a LED or publishing an article online.

Arduino Projects

Arduino Community
There are many Arduino projects available here that are categorised based on Audio & Sound, Lights & LEDS, Motors & Robotics, Internet of Things etc.

These projects are also ranked based on difficulty levels.

Where to Download Arduino

You can download Arduino from its official website here.

Arduino Programming

The underlying software use to programme Arduino is the Arduino programming language based on Wiring as well as the Arduino Software (IDE) based on Processing.

Arduino Code

Arduino code is written in C++ with an addition of special methods and functions, which we’ll mention later on. C++ is a human-readable programming language.

When you create a ‘sketch’, which is the unit of code that Arduino uses for a program, it is processed and compiled to machine language.
This is then uploaded to and run on an Arduino board.

Arduino Tutorial

Tons of Arduino tutorials are available to demonstrate the built-in examples, as well as examples from libraries.

The libraries include EEPROM library, Liquid Crystal Library, Servo Library, WiFi Library and more.

Arduino Uno

Arduino board
The Arduino Uno is an open-source microcontroller board based on the Microchip ATmega328P microcontroller and developed by Arduino.cc.

The board consists of 14 digital I/O pins (six capable of PWM output), 6 analog I/O pins, and is programmable with the Arduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment) using a type B USB cable.

The Arduino Uno price in Singapore is around $36.90.

Arduino Kit

The Arduino Starter Kit is meant for STEAM fans and no prior experience is required.

It allows students to learn about voltage, current and digital fundamentals such as digital and analog signals.

Students will also have the opportunity to have hands-on on programming.
The Arduino Uno price in Singapore is around $145.00.

Arduino Nano Singapore

The Arduino Nano is a small, complete, and breadboard-friendly board based on the ATmega328 (Arduino Nano 3.0).

It has more or less the same functionality of the Arduino Duemilanove or UNO, but in a different package.

It lacks only a DC power jack, and works with a Mini-B USB cable instead of a standard one.

The Arduino Uno price in Singapore is around $16.00.

Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense Singapore

Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense is built around the NINA B306 module for BLE and Bluetooth 5 communication.

The Nano BLE Sense is based on the Nordic nRF52840 processor that contains a powerful Cortex M4F.

The board features a rich set of sensors that allow for creating innovative and highly interactive designs.

It has an architecture that is fully compatible with Arduino IDE Online and Offline.

The board also features a 9 axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), temperature, pressure, humidity, light, color and even gestures sensors.

A microphone is even available an can be managed through specialized libraries.

Arduino Nano 33 IoT Singapore

The Arduino Nano 33 IoT is the easiest and cheapest point of entry to enhance existing devices (and creating new ones) to be part of the IoT and designing pico-network applications.

Whether you are looking at building a sensor network connected to your office or home router, or if you want to create a BLE device sending data to a cellphone, the Nano 33 IoT is your one-stop-solution for many of the basic IoT application scenarios.

The board’s main processor is a low power Arm® Cortex®-M0 32-bit SAMD21. The WiFi and Bluetooth® connectivity is performed with a module from u-blox, the NINA-W10, a low power chipset operating in the 2.4GHz range.

On top of those, secure communication is ensured through the Microchip® ECC608 crypto chip.

Besides that, you can find a 6 axis IMU, what makes this board perfect for simple vibration alarm systems, pedometers, relative positioning of robots, etc.
